August 6th, 2011 ~ Jaclyn & Brandon : Wed Aboard the Kajama in the Toronto Harbour

What an amazing day Jaclyn and Brandon had! The weather reports weren't looking great, with thunderstorms in the forecast...not good considering the ceremony was to take place on the tall ship Kajama in the Toronto Harbour. The weather ended up not being an issue. The rain held off until after the ceremony, and even then it was only a few light sprinkles.

Beautiful Jaclyn! And so excited!

Jaclyn and Brandon met on the staircase for their first glimpse of each other.
First glimpse.
I love the look on Brandon's face. I think he is pleased with his beautiful bride.
We had plenty of time to get some shots of the happy couple in before heading over to the ship for the ceremony.

The happy couple set off for the short walk to the ship.

We stopped for a few shots on the way.
The Wave Deck.

Along came a couple on their segways and generously allowed Jaclyn and Brandon to board for a photo opp.

I love how all the guys are checking Jaclyn out.

We boarded the ship to this fantastic treasure chest filled with a surprise for each of the guests.

What an amazing backdrop for a wedding.

Best wishes, Jaclyn and Brandon. Thanks for taking me along for the ride. Enjoy Jamaica!!

Doris Kienitz the Author ~ East Germany and the Escape: Kitchen Table Memoirs

I have known Doris my whole life. She is one of the kindest and most generous people I know. She operates Zaandi Yoga Studios out of her home near Selkirk. I look forward to my weekly classes with Doris for the calming and relaxing effect it has on me.

I had the great privilege of photographing Doris and John's wedding last September at their home and was thrilled when Doris called to ask me to snap an "author's photo" for her upcoming book "East Germany and the Escape: Kitchen Table Memoirs" due out in November. The book is based on her father's experience in Germany and his eventual escape. It has a lot of historical significance and promises to be a great read. In fact, I had the opportunity to read an early version of the first few chapters and can attest to that fact.
I am so excited for Doris and can't wait to see her book in print. Above are a couple of shots from our session. I gave her quite a few to choose from so it remains to be seen which one she chooses for the book.
  Best wishes Doris!
